The north side of the Pyramid faces the Kalasasaya Temple and the Sunken/Semi-Subterranean Temple.  The walls of the Pyramid’s north side are the most excavated at this time and look amazing, as you can see in the photos.  The north side is the touristy route through the Pyramid to the other temples.  It is also the easiest way down from the top :-)
